Dr. Evan Sudduth, DMD

Life often comes full circle. Like many others born and raised in the Duncan community, Dr. Sudduth spent a lot of Friday nights under the lights of Nixon Field. During his time as a Rebel football player he was introduced to Dr. Keels when he was fit for his team issued custom mouthpiece. It was after this experience that he began to shadow Dr. Keels and develop an interest in dentistry. Dr. Sudduth attended Clemson University for his undergraduate studies and then the Medical University of South Carolina for his dental training. While in dental school, he was actively involved in Dental Community Fellowship, which allowed him to use dentistry to serve overseas in Peru, Ecuador, Honduras, and Burma. Following dental school, Dr. Sudduth received advanced training in IV sedation, wisdom tooth removal, and the management of medically complex patients at the Prisma Health General Practice Residency in Columbia, South Carolina. Dr. Sudduth is eager to serve the community that raised him!

Oral diseases affect more than 3 billion. Untreated dental disease causes tooth decay, the most common disease on earth. Filling and treatment of cavities helps prevent infections. Imagine that cavities are just an open space in your teeth. Bacteria causes decay that could damage some parts of teeth in an instant. The drilled cavity is likely the breeding ground for these viruses if there’s no treatment for them. When the bacterium spreads, it can damage teeth. Immediately prior to your appointment, you must set aside half an hour. Your hygienist may require X-rays.
